Butte Airport Association to Hold Open House, Youth Educational Programs and FAA

August 20, 2001, Crested Butte, Colorado —
Friends Of The Crested Butte Airport will welcome young aviation enthusiasts and friends
of the airport on Saturday, August 25. A wide variety of aircraft will be on display,
including medevac aircraft, business aircraft and restored vintage airplanes.
"Young Eagles ages 7 to 17 will have the opportunity to learn from Aerospace
Professionals and will be able to experience an introductory flight" said Dr.
Thomas P. Moore, a local pilot and Orthopedic Surgeon.
"This is a chance to see another side of the world of aviation and understand its
benefits to the small communities" said R. Jerry Falkner, a local business
owner and president of the Friends Of The Crested Butte Airport, Inc., a non profit
organization.
FAA Safety Seminars featured at the event will also provide a wonderful opportunity to
learn more about mountain flying and the airport’s beneficial role in the community.
