August 20, 2001, Crested Butte, Colorado
Local Aviation Enthusiasts are invited to join others who share their interest on Saturday,
August 25, 2001 to the first fly-in of the "Crested Butte Falcons",
Chapter 881 of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), which provides invaluable
local aviation opportunities.
The EAA Young Eagles pre-flight briefing, supplemented by a presentation of aerospace
careers opportunities will take place at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 25, 2001, at the
Crested Butte Avion Airport on Brush Creek Road (County Road 738).
EAA has more than 950 Chapters around the world, which provide activities for aviation
enthusiasts in their communities and areas. Chapter activities range from monthly
meetings to airport open houses and pancake breakfasts that share aviation with the
community and build a stronger bond between local aviation and the general public.
Other EAA Chapter efforts include Young Eagles rallies which share the world of flight
with a new generation; aircraft building projects; and work parties that help maintain
a local flight facility or airfield. Most EAA Chapter members are pilots, but non-flying
aviation enthusiasts are always welcome as well.
EAA Chapters are the backbone of the international 170,000-member organization. The local
organizations include general EAA Chapters as well as specialized Chapters for
Antique/Classic aircraft, Warbirds, Ultralight and International Aerobatics Club
enthusiasts.
